I've been thinking of flashing LineageOS (LOS) on my phone for long. LOS is a custom ROM, made over stock android, with extra niceties.
When I heard that my phone started supporting LOS (unofficially), no points for guessing, I went ahead and flashed it. That was all I did last Saturday.
It didn't run smoothly out of the box and needed some tweaks.

I found it basic yet buttery smooth. No bloatware or shady background processes, hence, better battery life. Plus, its open-source.
One can't not like LOS.
